WARRANTY & INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Postformed Laminate Benchtops (Supply Only)

1. APPLICATION OF AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW (ACL)
This document operates subject to the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Nothing in this document excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under the ACL.
Where the ACL applies, Proform Products Pty Ltd (“Proform”) provides its goods with guarantees that they:
• Are of acceptable quality
• Are fit for any disclosed purpose
• Match description or sample
To the extent permitted by law, Proform limits its liability in accordance with Section 7 of this document.

2. WARRANTY (PRODUCT ONLY)
Proform warrants that, at the time of supply, its postformed laminate benchtops are:
• Manufactured in accordance with accepted industry standards
• Free from material and manufacturing defects
This warranty applies strictly to the product as supplied.
Where goods are supplied without installation, Proform does not warrant or accept responsibility for:
• Installation methods
• Workmanship
• Site conditions
• Performance of joins completed by others

3. SUPPLY-ONLY CONDITION
Where Proform supplies benchtops only (no installation):
• The purchaser and/or installer assumes full responsibility for installation
• All installation work must be carried out with due care and skill
• The installer is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards and these requirements
Any failure arising from installation practices is not a product defect.

4. MANDATORY INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Failure to comply with this section will void any warranty claim relating to the issue.
4.1 Join Preparation
• Joins must be precision-machined (mason’s mitre or equivalent)
• Laminate edges must be tight, flush, and free of gaps
4.2 Approved Adhesives
Joins must only be assembled using:
• Two-part epoxy adhesive (preferred)
• D3 or D4 waterproof PVA adhesive
• Polyurethane (PU) adhesive suitable for benchtop joins
Standard (non-water-resistant) PVA adhesives are not acceptable under any circumstances.
4.3 Mechanical Fixing
• Benchtop join bolts must be installed
• Bolts must be evenly tensioned to achieve full surface contact
4.4 Sealing (Critical Requirement)
All joins and exposed substrate must be fully sealed:
• Continuous bead of colour-matched sealant or silicone at laminate seam
• All cut-outs (sinks, cooktops) sealed on all exposed edges
Unsealed or inadequately sealed joins will allow moisture ingress.

5. WATER INGRESS & SUBSTRATE MOVEMENT
Benchtops incorporate particleboard or similar substrates which are inherently susceptible to swelling when exposed to moisture.
Accordingly, the following are not product defects:
• Swelling at joins
• Delamination at seams
• Moisture-related expansion
Where caused by:
• Incorrect adhesive selection
• Failure to seal joins or cut-outs
• Poor installation practices
Such outcomes are deemed to result from acts or omissions of the installer or third party.

6. EXCLUSIONS
To the extent permitted by law, Proform is not liable for defects or damage caused by:
• Incorrect installation or assembly
• Use of non-approved adhesives
• Lack of sealing or inadequate sealing
• Water ingress after installation
• Structural movement (cabinetry, flooring, building)
• Misuse, abuse, or abnormal environmental conditions
• Alteration or modification by any third party

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Where a failure is established under the ACL, and to the extent permitted by law:
• Proform’s liability is limited to, at its option:
o Replacement of the product, or
o Repair of the product
Proform is not liable for:
• Installation or labour costs
• Removal or reinstallation costs
• Consequential or indirect loss
• Damage to cabinetry, appliances, or surrounding property

8. INSPECTION REQUIREMENT
• All products must be inspected prior to cutting or installation
• Any defects must be reported before installation
Installation, cutting, or modification of the product constitutes acceptance that the product is free from visible defects.

9. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By purchasing, handling, or installing Proform benchtops, the purchaser and/or installer acknowledges that:
• These requirements form part of the supply conditions
• Responsibility for installation rests entirely with the installer
• Failure to comply with these requirements may void warranty claims
